Abhay Deol gets tattooed

Abhay Deol found a new way to promote his upcoming film Dev D. He got himself a tattoo, while the media cheered on.

The young actor also gave us a jhalak of Dev D's music by singing it for us -- check out the video, where he sings Emotional atyachar.

Dev D is the modern version of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Devdas, which has been filmed thrice before. Dev D has been directed by Anurag Kashyap, who gave us Black Friday and No Smoking earlier.

So how is this Devdas different from KL Saigal's version in 1935, Dilip Kumar's version in 1955, and Shah Rukh Khan's version in 2002? "The emotions are the same," Abhay answers. "There were people in the 1930s, who behaved like Devdas when they broke up with their lovers, and that happens today as well. The story of Dev D is the same, but made in a modern set-up, with some changes."

Was he a Devdas ever in real life? "Yes, but that was a long time ago," Abhay says. "And believe me, it was emotional atyachar!"
