Straddling classical and jazz
Trumpet player Charlie Porter is steeped in tradition, equally at home playing wah-wah pedal-esque trumpet lines and in the strict discipline of classical music.
Originally from Florida, Porter studied at New York's famed Juilliard School of Music, and was the first musician to be awarded first prize at America's National Trumpet Competition in both the jazz and classical categories.
