Can you imagine Nelly Furtado serenading our very own Aamir Khan on screen?

You won't have to wait too long to see it come true. The folk singer will star opposite the Khan in his forthcoming, Rang De Basanti.

The Portuguese singer, who grew up in Canada and was seeing ColdPlay's Chris Martin before he married Gwyneth Paltrow, will make her debut in a Bollywood film.

It will be shot in two versions. The Hindi version is called Rang De Basanti, and the English one is known as Paint It Yellow.

Directed by Rakesh Mehra (Aks), the film sees Khan, Arjun Rampal, Atul Kulkarni and Kunal Kapoor (Meenaxi) as four close friends. Dil Chahta Hai, anyone?

"No, it's not like Dil Chahta Hai," Kunal says. "This film is more dark. It's definitely not a comedy."

The music will be scored by A R Rahman, and will be shot in Delhi, Jaipur, Punjab and a foreign location.

Since Aamir has wrapped up the shooting for his period film, The Rising, rehearsals for Rang De Basanti will start in October and shooting in November.

So till then, say what you want!
