Kumaraswamy is extremely popular here

April 18, 2009
Another factor is that Kumaraswamy is extremely popular in this belt. The biggest advantage for Kumaraswamy would be that his home constituency of Ramnagar where is a sitting MLA has become a part of the Bangalore rural constituency following delimitation.

Kumaraswamy as usual looks confident of a win. When he filed his nomination, he said that he would not be campaigning for himself in this constituency. However he was advised to spend more time at the constituency since Tejaswini is considered to be a giant killer.

Moreover they are also not taking the BJP candidate, C P Yogeshwar lightly as the BJP is capable of springing a few surprises.

Watching the campaign trail of both Tejaswini and Kumaraswamy it seems as though the latter has the edge. Kumaraswamy has a charm which draws the voter closer.

Tejaswini however has a more aggressive style of campaign. However for Tejaswini falling out with her mentor in the Congress, D K Shivakumar has not gone too well. He has not campaigned much during this election.
