Sushil Kumar Shinde

The chief minister was among the first candidates to be declared elected.

Shinde won by a narrow margin of 6,483 votes from Sholapur South.

Asked who was in the race for the chief minister's post, Shinde said the elected representatives would decide the issue.

The CM said he was firm on his decision of not to contest any more assembly polls. "I have already said that I would not like to be in state politics after the age of 60 and I stick by the decision."
