On April 20, Sonia Gandhi made her presence felt in Vasai in the Mumbai North parliamentary constituency. The Congress president was in the city to address a rally in support of Congress candidate, Bollywood star Govinda who is taking on Bharatiya Janata Party veteran Ram Naik.
It was Sonia's first election rally in Mumbai, which goes to the polls on April 26.
Before the Vasai rally Sonia attended two rallies in Jalna and Kopargaob. She also visited Shirdi for Sai Baba's blessings.
Sonia repeatedly attacked the Vajpayee government for its 'false' claims on its India shining campaign.
She also took the BJP to task over the Lucknow sari stampede saying, "They have made a joke of poor people's condition by inviting women for free sarees in which many died."
