Tuesday, March 18, marks the first death anniversary of former England batsman and South Africa and Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer, who died under mysterious circumstances, a day after Pakistan's surprise and early exit from the 2007 World Cup in Jamaica.
Pakistan were sent crashing out of the World Cup after losing to minnows Ireland by three wickets. The next day the 58-year-old coach was found unconscious in his hotel bathroom and later died in hospital. Initially, it was believed that he was strangled or poisoned to prevent him blowing the whistle on illegal betting and match-fixing. But investigations over three months concluded that he died of natural causes.
