After a momentous win against South Africa to clinch the Under-19 cricket World Cup, the heroes of the squad touched down in Bangalore on Tuesday to a warm reception.
The Garden City was all geared up to receive the heroes, but a big question that could be asked is whether the seniors down under stole the U-19 teams thunder. The euphoria which was witnessed when the seniors came down in India after the Twenty20 World Cup was clearly missing.
Although the crowd at the airport was great with many office-goers bunking to catch a glimpse of the team, the roads were pretty empty. Most Bangaloreans were either stuck in office or at their homes watching the Indo-Australia encounter.

Some television channels which had decided to telecast this event live backed out at the last minute so that they could facilitate time for the Indian seniors. While many believe that the victory of the seniors dampened this event, several others say that it was too short a notice and many people were not even aware of such an event being hosted by Bangalore.
