Bangladesh cricketer Alok Kapali plays a shot during their Super League Asia Cup match against India in Karachi on Saturday.
After captain Mohammad Ashraful won the toss and elected to bat on a flat, dry pitch, Kapali hit a fighting maiden century to lead Bangladesh to their highest one-day total of 283-6 against India.
The 24-year-old made 115 to lift the innings with a 112-run stand (off just 96 balls) for the sixth wicket with Mahmudullah Riyad (26 not out). The duo raised 97 runs off the last 10 overs.

Kapali, who faced 96 balls, was mainly responsible for pushing his side to a fighting total after they had slipped to 120 for four and then 169 for five.
It was a satisfying moment for the leg-spinning all-rounder as he was not picked in the original Asia Cup squad and only came in as a replacement for the injured Aftab Ahmed.
