Deccan Chargers were one of the most hyped teams in the inaugural edition; they also were the most disappointing, and ended the tournament with the proverbial wooden spoon.
However, one of the bright spots in a disappointing campaign was a blistering unbeaten 109 by Adam Gilchrist against the Mumbai Indians.

Gilchrist's 48-ball knock, that included nine boundaries and 10 huge sixes, ensured Hyderabad a resounding 10-wicket win in that match. They were the only team in the tournament to win by that margin.
