India, Sri Lanka set for SSC Test

Unravelling the mystery of new spin sensation Ajantha Mendis will be the biggest challenge for India's famed batsmen as they go into the first cricket Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Wednesday, seeking to achieve the rare feat of conquering the islanders at home.

The 23-year-old Mendis, an army sniper who shot into fame because of his unorthodox and mesmerising deliveries, is the home team's brand new weapon and much will depend on how the Indians tackle him on a Sinhalese Sports Club track tailor-made to suit the hosts.
