The Benaud statue is the first of ten sporting legends to be honoured as a part of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust sports sculpture project.
"The first thing I want to say is I like it. The positioning of the sculpture could hardly have been better. That was the spot that I always parked the car. A very nice gesture," Benaud said at the unveiling.
