India's V.V.S Laxman plays a stroke during the fourth day of the third and final Test match against Sri Lanka at The P. Saravanamuttu Stadium in Colombo on Monday.

  • Fighting a nagging pain, Laxman remained unbeaten on a fighting 61, an innings that included only three boundaries.

    Although Laxman survived a chance when Thilan Samaraweera dropped him of Murali, he showed determination in pushing the odd ones to the boundary.

    Laxman even got a second life when he was dropped by Malinda Warnapura at short leg of the bowling of Mendis.

    But Laxman survived and completed 6000 runs in 96 matches and 158 innings.
