Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has been banned for the reminder of the domestic Twenty20 league cricket tournament after he was found guilty of slapping compatriot Sreesanth.

Indian Premier League commissioner Lalit Modi announced at a news conference in New Delhi on Monday that the cricketer would be fined all of his match fees from the tournament.

Under the ICC code of conduct, the offence refers to a physical assault and carries a minimum ban of 10 games and a maximum life ban from play.
