April 14, 2008
Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team owner Shah Rukh Khan is hoping that Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar's five-year ban is lifted allowing him to play in the Indian Premier League.

"My message to Shoaib is just quickly come back and play for Kolkata Knight Riders. I hope all your problems are sorted out Inshallah. I hope PCB and all the other assocations do have it in their heart and overlook whatever they feel you have done not in the right way," Shah Rukh said in Mumbai on Monday.
Shoaib was ruled out of the Indian Premier League after the tournament's Governing Council chairman Lalit Modi said the Pakistan fast bowler cannot take part in the high-profile Twenty20 competition till the Pakistan Cricket Board lifts the ban on him.

But Shah Rukh is hoping a solution can be found pretty soon so Shoaib would be eligible to play in the IPL.
"He is a young guy, he has made a mistake so I would say please forgive him because he is in our IPL team. He is also there in the rap song that we shot. We had a lot of pride when we purchased it and we hope to keep the pride going. So we are hoping he will be able to play for us and take 10-20 wickets," he said.
