Debutant Ishant Sharma claimed his first wicket when he sent back the big-hitting Mashrafe Mortaza in the first innings.
Resuming their first innings at 58 for 5, the hosts continued to find the Indian attack too hot to handle and were also the victim of two debatable umpirsing decisions before they folded up for 118.
With Bangladesh adrift by 492 runs, Indian skipper Rahul Dravid enforced the follow-on.
After having been bundled out cheaply in the first
innings, Bangladesh's spectacular collapse continued in the
post-lunch session with skipper Habibul Bashar failing for the
second time in the match for a single digit score.
Bashar (5) fell in the very first over on resumption as
his attempted pull off Zaheer Khan landed into the safe hands
of his Indian counterpart Rahul Dravid at mid-wicket.
