Strauss had little hesitation in batting first after he won the toss and there was little indication of the things to come as both S Sreesanth and Zaheer started impressively under overcast conditions.

Zaheer, in fact, gave the Indians a perfect start when he sent Strauss' off stump cart wheeling to a ball that came in sharply and beat all his defences as he went for an expansive drive.
