Tendulkar, Dhoni may miss Bangalore Test

December 7, 2007

India's hopes of winning the first series against Pakistan at home in more than two decades suffered a setback due to injuries to key batsmen ahead of Saturday's third and final Test.

Sachin Tendulkar has yet to recover from a knee injury, while wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni is doubtful due to an ankle injury sustained during the one-day series against the tourists.

Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, who missed the drawn second Test in Kolkata, has been ruled out of the third match too.

Malik suffered an ankle sprain while playing football shortly after Pakistan lost the first Test, at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi, and has been out of action since then.

Stand-in captain Younis Khan will again lead Pakistan at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Saturday.
