With the 'Kangaroo' back in its land, as it were, the Bengal Tiger is roaring again.
This is how one can describe Sourav Ganguly's reemergence as a kingpin in India's batting line-up after being in the wilderness for around ten months for curious reasons, at a time when Greg Chappell had been calling the shots as Team India's high profile coach.
Ganguly's consistent batting on the current tour of England is like a breath of fresh air, and all seems well with Team India.
According to Chappell, Ganguly had "an attitude problem" and the Australian, too big a star in his own right, couldn't stand it, including the Bengal batsman's "shenanigans". A noticeable slump in Ganguly's form made things quite easy for Chappell, always a hard taskmaster, to wield the rod he was so eager to. And out went Ganguly from the very team he had built and knit together so well after the match-fixing scandal that rocked Indian cricket and ended the career of Mohammad Azharuddin.
