India vs West Indies, 1st Test

Complete coverage | Match report | Scorecard

Indian paceman S Sreesanth (centre) looks in frustration as West Indies batsmen Chris Gayle (left) and Darren Ganga steal another run during the last day of the opening Test in Antigua.

Resuming on 13 for no loss, the West Indian openers played out 21 overs in the morning before giving India their first success.

Gayle played a most uncharacteristic innings in compiling a rather subdued 69 from over four hours of batting though there were signs of belligerence nevertheless.

The West Indian last pair of Fidel Edwards and Corey Collymore played out 19 balls to save their team from the brink of defeat.
