The Indian tricolour flew high at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore on Monday.

Indian cricket fans, the most raucous in the world, turned up in huge numbers and drowned the support by their opposite numbers to make the Indian team feel at home across the border.

As many as 2,600 Indian cricket fans crossed the Wagah border on Sunday to watch Monday's third India-Pakistan one-day international. The heavy rush at the check-post caused a stampede, which saw a few sustain minor injuries.

The Indian fans, who have been given a three-day visa, rued the fact that the time allotted to them was too short for sight-seeing and savouring the delicacies of the historic city.

Earlier three people were injured at Wagah when fans turned violent. An official said they were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
