The first in our Mission Tomorrow series: Subramaniam Badrinath, surely one of the best batsmen India has today.
Many expected Subramaniam Badrinath to be in the Indian team bound for South Africa after his performance in the Ranji Trophy game against Delhi last month.
What is Mission Tomorrow?
When he went in to bat, Tamil Nadu was 11 for 2 but Badrinath played a captain's knock and hit a superb 136.
Badrinath, 26, who has represented the Tamil Nadu Under-13, Under-19 and Under-22 teams, got his first taste of top class international bowling when he toured Australia with the India 'A' team earlier this year. The experience Down Under, he confesses, made him a better batsman.
Shobha Warrier spoke with the man in waiting for the Indian cap.
