Dismal year for India in ODIs
December 6, 2006
As the statistics below show, 2006 has proved to be one of India's worst years as far as one-day cricket is concerned. Rahul Dravid's team played 30 ODIs during the year, and lost 15 for a lowly win percentage of 43.
After the highs of 2005, when it won 12 of the 27 matches played, the Indian team hit a new low.
And, quite expectedly, the year ended with a 4-0 drubbing in South Africa as the batting crumbled to pieces.
A look at India's record in ODIs in the last five years:
| Year | Mts | Won | Lost | NR | Won% |
| 2002 | 35 | 19 | 13 | 3 | 54.28 |
| 2003 | 28 | 16 | 10 | 2 | 57.14 |
| 2004 | 32 | 15 | 16 | 1 | 46.87 |
| 2005 | 27 | 15 | 12 | 0 | 55.55 |
| 2006 | 30 | 13 | 15 | 2 | 43.33 |
