'The season with Glamorgan could prove vital' - Farokh Engineer
I am sure Sourav Ganguly will come out of the bad patch. He has plenty of experience to get over it. After all, he has scored over 9000 runs in ODIs and around 5000 runs in Tests. One good innings and the runs will start flowing from his bat.
It is just that he has developed a weakness against short-pitched bowling. He needs to go back to the drawing board and work on his batting.
His footwork is the biggest problem. He gets out of position while hitting the deliveries, hence he is having trouble. What he must do is to come in position quickly and pick the ball early.
Bowlers all over the world know about his problem of short-pitched bowling and will always bowl short at him.
If I have five minutes with him in the nets I can solve the problem.
The season with Glamorgan could prove vital. If he gets runs in England he will back with a bang at the international level too. If he fails, things could get difficult for him.
