VVS Laxman raises his bat to celebrate his century, his first against Sri Lanka.
In the absence of the indisposed Rahul Dravid, Laxman put patience ahead of flair and helped stage a remarkable recovery after India had been reduced to 97-5 on the opening day.
Laxman and Irfan Pathan stacked up a partnership of 125 runs for the seventh wicket to take India close to 400 in their first innings on the second day of the third and final Test against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad on Monday.
