India players Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble were felicitated before the start of the third Test by new BCCI president Sharad Pawar and the Gujarat Cricket Association.

Leg-spinner Kumble became only the fifth Indian to win 100 Test caps.

India, after winning the toss and electing to bat, scored 247 for six on the first day of the third Test against Sri Lanka at the Motera stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday. India lead the series 1-0.
