India vs Australia, First Test, Day 3

Complete coverage | Match report | Scorecard

India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel staged a strong fightback on day three of the first Test against Australia at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, in Bangalore, on Friday.

Patel and Irfan Pathan, who resumed the Indian innings on 150 for six, in reply to Australia's first innings' 474, stayed together for two hours to frustrate the Aussie bowlers in the morning session.

Australia, who bowled out India for 246, then opted against enforcing the follow-on. They were 127 for four wickets in their second innings at close of play.
