Cairns... and able

Christopher Lance Cairns has performed prodigious feats with bat and ball from the age of five. But for a spate of injuries he would have, arguably, ended up as one of the greatest cricketers of all time.

His father, Lance, a famous cricketer himself, calls him "a nomad". Considering the many ups and downs Chris has witnessed in his career it is indeed an apt title.

At the end of the third Test of the ongoing series against England, Chris will retire from Test cricket.

A profile on the swashbuckling Kiwi.
